About The Event
The 5th and 9th Surulere Companies of The Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade Nigeria, All Saints’ Anglican Church, Surulere, warmly invite members of the church, Brigade officers, boys, girls, parents, former members, friends and supporters to the 2026 Annual Joint Enrolment and Rededication Service.
This annual service is a special occasion during which new members are formally welcomed and enrolled into the Brigade, while existing members and officers renew their commitment to the values, responsibilities and Christian principles of the organisation.
The service provides an opportunity for members to rededicate themselves to a life of faith, discipline, obedience, leadership and service to God, the Church and the wider community.
Celebrating 50 years of the 5th Surulere Company
The 2026 Enrolment and Rededication Service marks a major milestone in the history of the Brigade at All Saints’ Anglican Church, Surulere, as the 5th Surulere Company celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Founded in 1976, the company has spent five decades building generations of boys through Christian teaching, structured training, discipline, leadership development, teamwork and community service.
From 1976 to 2026, the company has remained committed to raising young people who are prepared to lead responsibly, serve faithfully and make a positive difference in the Church and society.
The Golden Jubilee is therefore more than an anniversary. It is a celebration of:
Fifty years of Christian formation and spiritual growth Fifty years of discipline, training and leadership development Fifty years of service to the Church and community Fifty years of friendships, mentorship and fellowship Fifty years of preserving the values and traditions of The Boys’ Brigade The officers, patrons, chaplains, members, parents and supporters who have contributed to the company’s journey
The celebration also honours former members and leaders whose dedication helped establish and sustain the company through the years.
Significance of the enrolment service
The enrolment ceremony formally receives new members into the Brigade and gives them an opportunity to publicly declare their commitment to the organisation’s Christian values, rules and responsibilities.
It also reminds every member that being part of the Brigade goes beyond wearing the uniform. It represents a commitment to good character, discipline, service, leadership and devotion to Christ.
Significance of the rededication service
During the rededication, existing members and officers renew their commitment to the mission and values of the Brigade.
It is a time for reflection, thanksgiving and recommitment as members remember the responsibilities attached to their positions and promise to continue serving faithfully within the Church, their companies and the wider community.
